Water is one of the most precious resources we have, especially if we consider that the amount of freshwater available to the inhabitants of the planet is constantly decreasing. It is a substance that is used in large quantities, even during the simplest cleaning operations. Comac has always been sensitive to this theme, and for this reason today we have chosen to talk about it in detail. So, let’s see what to do with water from floor scrubbers and Comac’s solutions for an eco-friendly reuse.
Why we should care about the water used by floor scrubbers
To understand the importance of water, let’s take the definition given by UN-Water, the United Nations inter-agency coordination mechanism for all freshwater related matters.
Water is complex because it is linked to almost everything in the world. But complexity should not hinder understanding: water is a precondition for human existence and for the sustainability of the planet.
It is therefore a precious and fundamental resource for sustainable and socio-economic development, but above all for human survival. Unfortunately, however, 2.3 billion people live in water-stressed countries, and 700 million people worldwide could be displaced by intense water scarcity by 2030. With these data, we immediately understand how important this resource is and why we should care about the reuse of water used by floor scrubbers.
Floor scrubbers: methods and technologies for saving energy and water
In the world of professional cleaning, energy efficiency and water saving have become fundamental aspects. Floor scrubbers are now essential tools in this sector, and Comac is leading the way in the adoption of innovative technologies to limit the waste of such precious resources.
The importance of avoiding energy waste is now recognized by everyone. Growing environmental awareness has pushed us to look for solutions that reduce energy consumption, and scrubbing machines are no exception. Thanks to cutting-edge technologies such as ECO Mode and Stop&GO, today it is possible to clean efficiently while minimizing energy consumption.
In fact, the most ecological floor scrubbers are equipped with technologies that allow them to adapt their power and the solution flow based on the conditions of the floor. This means that the eco-friendly scrubbing machine does not use more energy than necessary, thus helping to reduce operating costs and the environmental impact of cleaning operations. Furthermore, ecological scrubbing machines oriented towards energy saving are equipped with technologies such as Stop&Go to allow cleaning operation to be interrupted in the event of temporary stops, avoiding unnecessary waste of energy and water.
The move towards energy-saving technologies like these not only reduces long-term costs, but also demonstrates a real commitment to addressing the environmental challenges of our time. These innovations are not only an advantage for the companies that use them, but also help preserve resources and therefore our planet.
Save and reuse water with an eco-friendly scrubber dryer
The importance of an eco-friendly floor scrubber that doesn’t waste water can’t be stressed enough. These tools have now become an essential part of cleaning operations in both the industrial and commercial sectors, which is why it is essential that they are designed to minimize the waste of such a precious resource as water is.
The ecological choice does not only concern the use of sustainable materials, but also responsible behavior towards precious natural resources such as water. An ecological scrubber dryer, in addition to limiting energy consumption, must be able to optimize the use of water during cleaning operations.
Comac fully understands this need, which is why it offers solutions that allow the recycling and reuse of floor washing water. This means that the water used to clean an area can be properly filtered and used again, thus reducing overall consumption. This practice not only conserves water, but also contributes to responsible water resource management.
Choosing an eco-friendly scrubber dryer is therefore crucial when talking about cleaning tools because it allows you to reduce energy waste thanks to the reuse of water. Those who choose a scrubber dryer that recycles water demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting sustainable practices in the professional and industrial cleaning sector. This approach not only benefits the businesses that make this choice, but also contributes to a greener future for us all.
What to do with water from floor scrubbers? Reuse it with the solutions of the #comac4water project
Comac has always been sensitive to the issue of saving water. For this reason, it has come up implementing new technological tools that allow us to save water during cleaning operations, thus seeking to safeguard water resources with solutions that provide for their reuse. Water has never been so important to us, and this is where the #comac4water project was born, which focuses on finding the best solutions for recycling water from scrubbing machines.
Today, Comac has three solutions in the project:
Let’s see them in detail to help you understand what to do with water from floor scrubbers.
ReWater: the simple but effective filtration system
ReWater is the simplest technology among Comac’s solutions which still allows you to reuse the washing water from the scrubbing machine, but with a reduced degree of filtration, always guaranteeing excellent cleaning results. This is due to the fact that it is equipped with a 4-phase filtering system. Thanks to a double action granted by the mechanical filtration and a separation by decantation, the system allows you to work smoothly while maintaining constant the cleaning performances. Filtered and decanted water by ReWater does not have a light color like freshwater. However, it can be used for most of the standard cleaning operations, as long as they are carried out in environments that do not require special protocols, such as healthcare or the food industry.
To understand the benefits of this technology, just make a comparison between scrubbing machines. On average, a standard C85 floor scrubber uses 94,000 litres of water over a year. The same floor scrubber, used for the same work shifts and equipped with ReWater technology, uses 41,000 litres. This results in a saving of 53,000 litres in one single year. Well, a C85 ReWater can work for two years using the same amount of water that a standard C85 uses in one year.
Non Stop Cleaning: the recycling system installed on the floor scrubber
NSC – Non Stop Cleaning technology is a solution that allows you to recycle the water used for washing floors, thus reducing the environmental impact of cleaning operations. The system installed on the C85 NSC allows the water to be reused in three phases:
- First phase: water is used normally and collected by vacuum.
- Second phase: water is filtered and purified, thus completing the water recycling phase.
- Third phase: water is therefore available for reuse.
To meet demand for the most specific cleaning requirements, the C85 NSC PREMIUM version has an advanced filter stage that can obtain water with even greater purification and so allow operation with clear water.
With the Non Stop Cleaning Premium water can be reused for one week (with an estimated use of 3 hours a day), which cuts down on consumption and spares the operator from the labor of having to repeatedly dump and refill the machine tanks. The C85 NSC scrubber dryer not only allows you to reduce the unproductive times for loading and unloading the solution, but above all it allows you to save up to 80% of water and 90% of chemicals. This translates into a high economic advantage, minimizing the environmental impact of floor cleaning operations without affecting the result.
InAqua: the external system to clean water coming from cleaning operations
Comac has also developed an external system for the recycling and reuse of water associated with cleaning operations. InAqua is an external purification system that is very easy to use. It is also called the “water washing machine” because it operates in a very similar way to a domestic washing machine. In fact, the dirty water is loaded directly from the floor scrubber, and through the use of a special product, InAqua is able to aggregate the dirt and divide it by supplying clean water at the outlet and depositing the dirt in special bag filters. In just 60 minutes, it can clean up to 150 liters of water.
Thanks to InAqua it is possible to reuse the washing water of any floor scrubber and, if necessary, also the waste water deriving from the use of manual cleaning systems, such as the mop. Furthermore, at the end of use InAqua allows you to discharge safe water that does not pollute the subsoil. In this way Comac is able to provide everyone with a solution that reduces the use of water, saving money and making cleaning operations more environmentally friendly.
Our climate is water
As we have seen, today approximately two billion people around the world are living in water-stressed areas. This will be the situation of more than half the world’s population by 2050 if no action is taken. Not to mention the fact that climate change is already greatly intensifying the world water crisis – intensifying floods, prolonging droughts, and more. In many ways, the worst impacts of the climate crisis will be felt through water.
This is why Comac is offering many technologies designed to respect the environment, helping cleaning professionals to use resources more responsibly. At the same time, we want to offer a number of advantages when it comes to reducing cleaning costs, guaranteeing greater autonomy of work, saving time and improving cleaning results. Contact us if you want to understand what to do with water from floor scrubbers. Together we will find the solution that best suits your needs. Don’t wait, the time has come to reuse the water from cleaning operations!
